 EXHIBITION: GLOBAL
Friday, 11/3 - Friday, 12/22/06

“The globe is clearly a potent object that we can project on both our hopes and fears. It is a sphere, the most perfect and resolved of forms, while at the same time its surface is segmented into a quilt of inequality and conflict. It is covered by the poetry of place and names provided by the world’s languages, it is split and wrinkled by plate tectonics, and it is always divided equally into day and night. There is no resolution or grand vision promised by this exhibition, but rather twenty opinions orbiting a ball that we call home.” – Richard Klein, curator
